Almost everywhere across Russia, Victory Parade saw gross violations of anti-COVID-19 restrictions

Health safety rules, anyone? Never heard of them!
Today, June 24, Russian authorities proceeded with the long-sought victory day parade, first of all, to please the Russian president, despite the extremely threatening epidemiological developments.
Also, the event aimed to make Russians feel secure and motivate voters to come to polling stations and cast their votes for constitutional amendments. This – also to Putin’s pleasure, of course.

Still, I must note that such a large-scale event amid the raging pandemic will ultimately leade to tragic consequences.
On the eve of the parade, I posted photos from a one of rehearsals in St. Petersburg, where many participants were spotted with their disposable face masks pulled down their chin or without any whatsoever.
Today, in almost all parade venues, Russian military were seen marching with no masks covering their faces, which grossly violates the norms of anti-epidemic safety measures and poses risk to the health and lives of thousands of attendants of this viral bacchanalia.

Now that the parade is over and oblivious “patriots” had a chance to rejoice, did anyone really reflect on the potential cost? … We’ll find out the ultimate cost in about two weeks or so…
